The black bass (Micropterus salmoides) is also known as the Black Bass, Oswego Bass, Green Bass, and Bass Bucketmouth. They are not under way, but the biggest panfish family member, including crappie and fish. Originally native to eastern United States, has become one of sport fishing for wider distribution in the world. This is partly the fact that a fish is very hardy and adaptable, and also because of its popularity among fishermen.
Noted for explosive attacks, fully-jumping air, Wild Weasel evasive maneuvers, incredible strength and stamina and generally belligerent attitude, this fish holds an epic battle at the end of a line. There is Two subspecies of largemouth bass in the U.S.: the largemouth bass from Florida (Micropterus salmoides floridanus), and largemouth bass North (Micropterus salmoides salmoides). The Florida largemouth can reach a weight of 20 + pounds. The Northern subspecies rarely exceeds 10 under pounds.Largemouth are warm water fish, thriving in temperatures 65 degrees F., at 85 degrees F. It can tolerate water in excess of 90 degrees.
Bass prefer semi-clear, flowing water with abundant aquatic vegetation and cover. They can be found in ponds, rivers, lakes and even brackish estuaries. They are the builders of nests and spawn when water temperature reaches 60 degrees. Men prefer to build a nest on a hard bottom, along a shallow coast.
Largemouth Bass are solitary, ambush-type feeders, and seldom move far established its territory unless forced to retire. They viciously defend their area against intruders.
Largemouth bass can be smaller school for a while, but when mature, will play with their own areas and become totally solo, except for spawning. A big mouth is usually hidden somewhere nearby, or in dense cover and remain there until suitable prey arrives, which can be anything from small fish and insects, mammals and ducks swim almost any thing under the thinks it can get in your mouth! They are not very fussy about their food, most of the time. When prey gets close enough, the bass was fired from the deck and explosive and inhale the unfortunate creature swallowed whole.
If food is not to their liking, they can spit as fast, as many fishermen disappointed with a multi-hooked lure stuck in your lap could say. One of the marks of largemouth bass is that what they do, they do so decisively. If bitten, do it with malice. If they do not sting, not bite all.
There is nothing timid about this fish. They are not line shy, and rarely scare easily. For largemouth bass fishing, the most largest and ugliest of your bait is the best.
